PUEBLA (MEXICO). For three-and-one-half decades, Corteco’s TransTec brand has stood for quality and reliability in the automotive accessory and replacement parts business in the Americas. Its parts kits for transmissions and steering systems enjoy extremely high regard at dealerships and service shops. TransTec is the market leader.

An informative customer service program has contributed to its reputation and success: the TransTec technical seminars that Corteco regularly holds throughout North America. Organized with technical distributors, each seminar draws participants – 95 percent of them are auto mechanics – from the respective vicinity. With the help of the seminars, the participants bring their knowledge of industry trends in transmissions and steering systems up to date. The training takes an extremely practical rather than a theoretical approach. The seminar leader, a veteran outside expert with more than 25 years of service shop experience, has been a teacher for years.

In each case, the host distributor invites its customers, and at times as many as 350 of them attend. They are surveyed in advance to find out their special interests and problems so the seminar can specifically delve into them. At every event, a particular vehicle transmission is selected and is examined on a test stand. Corteco offered a total of 12 of these TransTec seminars in Mexico in 2014. For the first time, Central America and the Caribbean are on the schedule for 2015. The technical distributors handling the regions are already on board.
