07.11.2014 Corteco publishes pulley catalogue 2015/2016

A new front-end drive system catalogue just published by Corteco, features 34 new Start-Stop Pulleys and 31 new Pulley Kits.

Kits are the key to trouble-free system upgrades because they include the correct bolts for each application. This encourages fitment by installers who may be unaware that re-using old bolts creates issues within drive systems.

The extended range for 2015/16 features around 220 Pulleys, which include new references for models such as BMW 3 and 5 Series, Vauxhall Astra and Renault Laguna. The number of Pulley Kits in the new range now exceeds 50.  New references include additional applications for Vauxhall Zafira and Ford Focus models.

"The new catalogue represents one of the strongest and most diverse OE quality product offers available to aftermarket installers," says product manager Satbinder Rana. "It features a product overview, a comprehensive OE cross-reference section and a concise layout with clear images that simplify part identification."

As the aftermarket arm of Freudenberg, which is one of the world's largest manufacturers of parts for the automotive OE market, Corteco is able to guarantee the quality of the range and provide assurances about stock availability.

Start-Stop Pulleys are increasingly installed as OE on new car models. These modern energy and resource saving drive system designs reduce CO2 emissions and save fuel. The pulleys are designed to cope with the variation in speed and to reduce noise by damping the severe level of vibrations generated. As a consequence, they are subject to wear and must be replaced.

On average, traditional front-end drive systems will start and stop between 50,000 and 70,000 throughout their operational lifetimes. Start-Stop systems complete around ten times more. From a drive system installer's perspective, this is a developing replacement market and access to a reliable product range is essential.

"The range is based on customer experience from its markets across Europe and demand for models most likely to suffer system failure in the near future. Corteco distributors and their customers have access to solutions that deliver a consistent edge over their rivals," adds Satbinder Rana.
